ALFA ROMEO GIULIA ACHIEVES SECOND PLACE FOR THE 2017 EUROPEAN CAR OF THE YEAR
On the eve of the Geneva Motor Show in March, the Alfa Romeo Giulia emerged in second place in the 2017 European Car of the Year which is the most prestigious award of its type.
The Giulia achieved that feat after making it to the top seven shortlisted from an entry of 30 new cars. The pan European award is selected by 58 judges from around Europe. The seven top cars were tested extensively by the judges in January and February.
NOW FOR THE STELVIO
The first Alfa Romeo SUV known as the Stelvio was launched at the recent Los Angeles Motor Show and was immediately recognised as one of the stars of this very important event. The model shown was the top of the range Stelvio Quadrifoglio which Alfa Romeo claims will eclipse all rivals on performance and will go on sale early in 2017. The pace setting SUV uses the same 503 horse power engine as the Giulia Quadrifoglio which is 65 horse power more than the most powerful Porsche Macan.
There will be a choice of several engines including a 2 litre petrol and 2.2 litre diesel. Sales will commence in Europe in the first quarter of 2017 and right hand drive markets will be served from the third quarter of the year.
